Freezing rain for me this morning and lost the wheel briefly,at least the council have trimmed back the hawthorn bush at last that Was partially blocking the cycle path after I reported it twice .
Snow is forecast around 4 pm so I'm hoping I get home before it does anything silly.
Dense fog outside ATM

What's that yellow thing offset from the handlebar? Is it a light?

It's a Raveman FR300 light.

Sits in the Garmin mount with the Garmin sitting on top.
It's a 'to be seen' light rather then a 'to see' light as all my commute roads under street lights. They do make a more powerful, brighter version.
It can also be used as an emergency powerbank.

Still ice around. Despite it raining and generally being above freezing since yesterday morning. Today was dark even misty, I was expecting even the off-road sections to be ok, but walked two bad areas. Stayed upright so all is good.

Van for me. Also need to be home pronto as out for a meal at 6pm.

1 year to the day that I fell off on Ice (broke myself badly).

10 years to the day that I was released from prison (hospital spinal unit) after spending nearly 2 months in bed with a broken spine (and it was 2 months in bed - wasn't allowed out). I don't miss pooping in a litter tray.

Umpteen CCr's have probably seen displays like this as I did this morning:

Bloke driving huge 4*4 through roadworks in city centre decided he'd like a coffee. Nowhere to park so....straight up onto the pavement outside Costa, put hazard lights on since they magically absolve you of any wrongdoing....waiting in line to buy coffee whilst your vehicle blocks the entire pavement BUT it did save you a 50 yard walk from parking legally around the corner.

Bet he moans about cycling on pavements.....:cursing:. There is a 'war' on poor motorists, isn't there????.

yesterday I broke one of my main rules ie In cold, icy conditions stick to the main roads. No detours. I did detour and down I went. Black ice and I couldnt stand so had to get on the grass. usual hip/shoulder pain and my helmet had a good impact with the pavement. main roads today, damp/cold but in ok

Snap I hit the deck on the commute today on the slope down to what I call the bridge of death (it's had me before!)

Front fork is slightly bent and tyre picked up a puncture but not too bad otherwise. Lucky to be fair as the bridge stopped me taking a dip in the river 😂my hip isnt half giving me jip though.

Sorry to hear that. Was it black ice? Did you have studded tyres on?
