Very quite coming into the Metropolis this morning. At one point near Tower Bridge I was questioning myself as to whether it was a Sunday as the roads were that quiet and so few pedestrians about either

Yet just a couple of miles away in Deptford/Lewisham, the roads were absolutely rammed full of traffic.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
flat tyre when i came out of work , the cyclepath is in a right state atm after the storm with bits of gravel, branches etc strewn along its length .Found an embedded piece of gravel and replaced the tube asap .Whilst coming home i also had to negotiate 2 road works and a full road closure as well as loads of cars on the single track lane i use for some reason coming both ways.

It’s at it again! Will it never end!

Wet roads, but relatively tropical. Tried to rain as I was setting off, but stopped. Totally uneventful commute, no silly driving (other than parents dropping kids off on double yellows at the high school near work which is every morning).

Just two minutes slower than a summer commute which isn't bad after a four week layoff over Christmas.

Did a fake commute on the turbo yesterday lunch. Got to get the miles in for bike packing this summer.

Swapped the rear wheel last night, and new brake blocks while I was at it. Headset seemed a little loose this morning, so nipped that up, slightly complicated by the wahoo mount on the cap.

Entirely uneventful ride in, serenaded by birdsong.

So, it was 8c on the way in and two colleagues have come in (from their cars) saying how cold it is ? Just shows you what a bit of exercise does. They think I am weird as I'm always warm.

Yes, I was overdressed this morning with a winter jacket over long sleeve merino top! Just glad to dodge the showers at the moment. I think I'm in for a wet ride home.

Enjoy it while you can - forecast here seems to be continuous drizzle for the rest of this week then continuous sleet all next week...

Usual daily commute, nothing to really report apart from plenty of traffic this side of the Thames as usual.

My train is usually empty in the mornings and am able to use the bike space no problems.
This morning though, a few stops down the line a lady with pushchair/pram and youngster got on and sat in the wheel chair space opposite me. So between us we had taken all the space up. All good.
Another stop down the line another mother got on with a pushchair/pram and another youngster.
What the chances? In the 15 months I've being doing this commute its the first time 2 families got on the same space.
Anyhoo.. the second woman who got on decided to remark in a really snidey, loud way 'Oh there's a bike in the way (in the bike space) I suppose we'll have to stand! Whilst giving me daggers.
If she had asked nicely and/or politely or not said anything I would have moved my bike, no problems. But I didn't remove it because the shyte attitude.
