Ice tyres completely superfluous but might be useful on the way home.

I did the same re the ice tyres. Didn't need them this morning, expected to need them tonight, but it warmed up to 2°c and weren't needed. Still at least you warm up quite quickly when using them

I think Ice Tyres affect local weather patterns: fitting them causes an instant increase in temperature. Conversely, if you remove them after a month of sunshine, tempests, hail snow and ice will befall within 24 hours.

It's a similar but more extreme version of "Washing your bike syndrome".

With my work situation as im on the absence radar i can see me not chancing it all week
Just done the school run and the snow had melted yesterday leaving patches of ice and im guessing the cyclepath will be covered in frozen slush .

Fun ride on compacted snow & ice this morning, so Marathon Winters again today.
Looks like they might be left on for the rest of the week now.

Still got passed by a roadie on 23c's though!
On some stretches, I was the first rider of the day, but elsewhere looked to have been well used.

I put the bar mitts on the road bike this morning (Raynaud's Syndrome is not fun).
Combined with a pair of thermal running gloves, this worked an absolute treat keeping the cold off my hands.

I've ordered heated gloves (they are supposed to be here by 13.30) to see if it helps with my chemo induced Reynauds on the commute. Although I may give tomorrow's a miss with it being -3 predicted and move my meeting to online, I like my collarbone!

I have bad raynauds and use Blazewear heated glove liners. Work excellently for me.

I've bottled tomorrow's commute. I'd already shortened it to this side of the station (4 miles) and the train all the way. So I looked at the bus 10mins walk to a 1.5 hourly service or 15mins walk via an unlit muddy Bridleway to a 35min service or a 20min walk to a 50min frequency service that goes round the houses for 30mins (I can normally cycle in under 20mins!). According to wiki 8500 homes are planned for this area and at a guess 5,000 are already built. It's no wonder folk drive. Until a year or two ago there was no good way to get over the urban motorway of a ring road and at least 3,500 of those homes were already built. WfH it is :-/

I hope you are getting better after the chemo.
