Nice commute in no head wind, warm start for a change and hardly any traffic there always one prick who likes upset a nice day.
Had something similar Sat, the brave bar steward decided it was time to police the road from his expensive sports car, self entitled decided it was time to inform me that when turning right I should get on the right side of the road, also I should be in a the cycle lane (there is no cycle lane) please inform me how I am supposed to cycle in a non existent lane. Was out down elephant and castle sat was told the same thing sat "get in the cycle lane". Both got the same response and it ended in off. Not brave enough to get out the car though are you .

Followed one of the usual old boys into town today. I was a few cars behind him on queuing traffic. He decided to bellow "get off you phone" to the driver of car he was trying to squeeze alongside, fair do, if that's your thing...it's a valid point

He then squeezed himself down a really narrow gap, the sort of gap that would always vanish if traffic moved and rode of through the red traffic lights...

*sigh*

A brief but very odd atmospheric phenomenon this morning. Droplets of water appeared in the air as if falling from the sky, it freaked me out a bit!

Had it carried on for longer, I think the ground might have become wet and slippy, but happily it stopped very soon.

A close call methinks.

He must fall into the category of those that give us a ‘bad name’. 😁

Got on the bike wondered why I was moving so fast this morning no head wind whats going on. No traffic and another sunny start. Speed back up to what it was last summer, 8 speed cassette on certain parts of ride starting to spin out of the cassette maybe time to look for upgrade. Even the buses were nice this morning.

Not an ideal start to the day, the first two London trains were cancelled due to shortage of train crew despite the same driver and guard starting this train up that got off the cancelled one! This train is going to be totally rammed in 15mins at its first and next stop.

Awful close pass today.

With an oncoming driver there was not room for a safe pass at all, I heard the smoky '07 Yaris failing to slow behind me and thought "this is either going to be very painful or very close".

Thankfully it was the latter, the oncoming driver beeped and swerved as dullard squeezed his way past. Probably a young driver.

They are about to get a Notice of Intended Prosecution I expect. A good one to weed out but not a happy riding experience for me.

Also I finally got good clear footage of the 12 reg BMW X3 who believes that no-left-turn signs at a road closure/roadworks do not apply to her. That has also been sent in.

And breathe!

Sorry to hear of your miseries but thanks for recording and reporting these dickheads; likely a far more productive means of addressing bad driving than my default of firing them full off of fooks!

Yesterday I had to stop no once but twice to avoid big red vans running red lights - to make matters worse the tunes they were playing were terrible and their flashing blue lights really distracting!

This morning's sausages looked so good I bought three; some of which were contributed to a new and exciting posh Co-op egg sandwich scored on Sunday's bargain hunt. Tbh I think I prefer the council variety with its brown bread, lesser number of allergens and more minimal packaging..

Tired legs this morning but it was fantastic to be out; traffic was terrible into the city as now usual however for much of the offending roads I just enjoyed the massive, private cycle path that was the deserted opposite carriageway :becool:

Hope the chaos and delays at Peterborough had cleared by the time you did the return commute

Unfortunately it hadn't, but it was a new problem. The majority of services were cancelled 'due to an incident', apart from two of the slow trains (all the later slow trains were cancelled). So I rushed to the station to get one of the two that weren't cancelled and they were warning it could be subject to delays between Huntingdon and Peterborough. Being a really nice evening despite the strong headwind I decided to get off at Huntingdon and cycle the 18miles home.

I decided to go by the quiet Holme Road and hopefully say hello to a local chain gang around 6.45pm, when something came up behind me tonight and peeped their horn. I actually thought it was an artic driver who waited patiently to pass before I passed him again in a layby. It just seemed like a toot 'I'm here'. As I was doing less than 16mph into a strong headwind and lugging a heavy lap top, I thought I'd return the favour and moved towards the verge and looked for the first gap to pull into. About 30s later they came by and stopped 'Get on the cycle path'. What cycle path I responded? Instead of overtaking though when he had plenty of time to do so he slotted in behind me and waited longer for another safe gap before accelerating at speed but giving me reasonable space 😕

Unfortunately I use the camera in a waterproof case so the sound is not good.
