Nice and sunny this morning - quite a few out.

Annoyed by a throbber on a fat wheeled e-bike that was obviously derestricted, doing over 20mph in the bike lanes. Wish police would do something about the derestricted ones.

Encountered a silly sheep of a driver this morning. She was driving a (fittingly white) Mazda and just blindly followed the car in front as it overtook me, only to have to halt due to another vehicle stopping and indicating to turn right a little way ahead. The sheep cut in on me and just about got in front before stopping. Baa!

What a day for cycling ❤️

I clearly did a bad job with my new chain as it snapped on the ride home. Thankfully I have been more prepared for incidents as I dont trust my fettling skills that much, so I had the necessary chain tools and a quick link on me. 10 mins and I was back on the road.

Where have all the cycle commuters in Leeds come from? Sun's out and they're all over. But mostly going too slowly for my liking.

Trumps doing, he's a closet environmentalist and is driving up fuel prices deliberately to get folk to switch modes. Just like he's wanting to win the Noble Peace Prize by starting a war so he can end it. He's already did so 5 times, just no one has told the Iranians 🤪

Saw a manny cycling along with a golf bag + clubs over his shoulder.
Now that's something you don't see very often, first time for me anyway - !

Well after spending last week in Majorca cycling ( oooh look at me going on holiday!), it was back to ,commuting today.
Last week was scorching hot weather, fantastic roads, surfaces, bike lanes, every motorist gave loads of space, not one sounded horn etc.

This week, its at least light, warm and lack of wind. Actually, it was a decent ride today.

Observations:
1. Male walking down middle of residential road, rather than on either of the 2 footpaths complained I'd given him a scare when I rode past him. I am not sure he appreciated the sarcasm when I suggested he could ask the council to provide an area of street exclusively for pedestrians.

2. E Bikes seem to be getting faster. In first 5 or so miles of my ride, I was passed whilst riding between 17 mph and 20 mph by 3 ebikes all of which flew past me. I suspect they were doing nearer 30mph than 20mph ( even though they are by law only supposed to be limited to 15mph) - neither were they pedal assist bikes, nor did any have any safety gear on. They quite happily flew inches away from cyclists using the cycle lane. There seems to be no enforcement of any rules for e bikes these days.

anyway - its always a good day with a bike ride to start it
