The forecast deluge all seemed to happen overnight, was dry air if wet roads and puddles for a gentle ride in. Doesn't feel like June!

Very wet out, but I'm WFH. I suspect I'll be in the van this week as I'm not 100% recovered from getting hit by the lurgy on Tuesday evening last week. Weird, gone from setting a PB up a climb near home, to an hour later feeling very poorly and spending two days in bed. Managed my 'temperatures' through lots of pain killers.

East German Athlete! The urban rumour is that prior to events their coaches injected their Athletes with viruses. Their bodies would go hyper to fight them and during that hyper period they'd win. The next day they were destroyed but they'd won the medal the day before so their coaches didn't care!

I hope to be flying by weekend (assuming this weather improves !) :hyper:

It's good for the garden !

After all yesterdays rain it was quite nice but fresh this morning. Traffic was starting to build but it was still quite light and polite. Nothing really happened which was a good job as I forgot to turn my Varia on I was too busy concentrating on getting moving out of the door this morning, I should have worn more than arm and knee warmers.

A wet ride in yesterday so I chose the shortest route, which involves mixing it with kids cycling to school and the school run drivers. Approaching a side road on my left which the school traffic turns into, I am going straight on. However, SUV driver pulls out from said side road, but can't clear my lane due to the parked cars opposite the junction. Braking hard I get round the back of the vehicle but only just.

Thence a bit of busy High Street, then fast downhill, then nice separated cycle lanes nearly all the way to work. It's a shame there's no space for the council to put these lanes in on the rest of the route.

I have to drive today and tomorrow then I'm WFH for the rest of the week. May manage a faux-commute.

It was a bit colder this for this mornings ride. Temps have dropped for incoming rain I expect, but nothing as yet. Just as long as it rains whilst I'm at work and stops before I embark on the return journey.

It wasn't me!
Caused the death of a sparrow today.
Rode on the bike path beside a busy road and the bird flew away to the road and was hit by a bus.
The really sad part of this is that the death was caused by two people with their vehicles, who are active participants of the transport transition away from motorised individual transport.

Out on battered well past its prime (take it as you like rider or bike) flat bar btwin hybrid, took it out a few weekends ago cant get enough of how comfortable its is. Nice ride in this moring despite looking like it might chuck it down at any moment. First ride out in over a week due to bad weather. Nice hassle free ride in until final few miles. Bin lorry opposite junction after coming down hill I slowed down expecting usual idiots to use my side of the road to clear it. Comitted to go past rubbish lorry as cars actually did right thing for change and stopped waited for me as I have right of way except pratt decdide to turn right turning into me just swerved and missed the pratt at last mine absloute ducktard. If I had thought about it should have kicked his wing mirrror off, compette ****ing ***** if you get my meaning.

I have been lucky this week, only getting wet on one commute. All the rain has passed and the temperatures have risen a fair bit. Yesterday I even had to resort to a windcheater.
Anyhoo..today is perfect weather for the extended ride all the way home this afternoon.

I should have done what the taxi which came out of the side road done, except I was on the main road, and jumped the lights. I caught every red light and was running late. Typically when I get to the Station the train was running late too.

On route to the Station I had a driver start to fail to give priority at their giveway line but it's a properly designed narrowing so I didn't have to do much to make sure they couldn't.

Oh and back to that red light I was stopped at. A bus was stopped the other side of the junction and a driver tried to overtake just before it but I was too fast. They then tried to overtake again in the 5-10m before the next solid barrier and squeeze me out but again I was too fast and held the primary. 2-4secs later when the barrier ended I go back to the secondary again and let them overtake where there's plenty of room. Hopefully they'll have got the message but 🙄
