I may need to do some bramble butchery soon. The council actually trimmed a load of stuff right back at the end of last year, but it's growing fast. Missed the rain - just. Started 'proper' as I arrived home. Victory !

My rear gear cable broke on the ride home last night (new cable on order). So today's ride was a bit tricky with the chain stuck on the highest gear on the cassette. I ended up using the small chainring most of the time, to make it more rideable!

While a couple of council cuts per summer is enough to keep the bulk of it at bay, the individual canes grow bloody quickly don't they!?

At this time of year there's always some on every ride that could do with a trim along my main routes... while sometimes I end up off-piste and hitting some that apparently haven't had any attention.

It's quite a satisfying way to decompress / zone out for a bit.

It rained for 10 minutes in Worcester today, the exact 10 minutes it took me to cycle back from the office.

Nice ride in, passed a colleague but didn't recognise him a mile before work (you can't always be sure and his bike is not distinctive - grey hybrid). Beat me into the bike shelter as he took the back roads, and I got stuck at two set of lights. Apparently the bike shelter is nearly at capacity during the day (not that I notice at 8am and 5pm, as it's empty then). Need to ask for the two/three dumped bikes to be removed.

In our shelter there's a bike with a cover over it, one or two other that are probably dumped and whilst the kids balance bike has been removed, it has been replaced by another one pedal kids bike.

Our now group leader when he was lower down cleared out the shelter at our former office when he was a manager but I doubt he'll have time to this time and his replacement manager uses a Brompton which he takes into the office so probably never sees the shelter. There's still plenty of space for now as all cyclists don't seem to be in on the same days but 🤔

Reported young male driver of a Ford Fiesta who overtook me when he couldn't see the road ahead to be clear on 12th May. An oncoming driver was forced to completely halt to allow him to complete his overtake. On 2nd June I had an email from A&S Police saying he'd received a warning letter, conditional offer or offer of an education course.

This morning he did it again, overtaking me on hazard lines on the approach to a bend, and forcing an oncoming BMW driver into the verge.

This failure to learn from previous warnings is highly unusual!

Wonder if we'll get a quiet ride home at 5pm ? Or will there be a mad dash for KO ?

Its a Tern Verge D9. For a folder, it's a not bad 13kgs with the mudguards and kick stand. So not too bad. It's a fair old nippy bugger which gets up to speed quick. The gears though are a little bit low for me. It's easy to ride through traffic but I cut off an inch each side of the handlebars and may even take off another inch making it much easier to filter. No effect on the handling. Great hydraulic disc brakes too.
Current model, Verge D9 is £1150 direct but no doubt can be picked up cheaper. There's one on the bay for £399. Which if has been looked after (it looks like it has been) is a bargain. Its a pretty much bombproof bike.

There's some motorcycling YouTuber who posted yesterday of nearly getting wiped out by a driver cutting the corner of a T junction (the biker was on the minor arm, the driver was turning right from the major). Then he posted almost the exact same video again, except this time he did get wiped out by the same driver!

Lol, sod's law meant today I had almost the same!

Awful when that happens. I arrived at a T junction the other day and surprised a driver who was poised to cut the corner to turn in. They absolutely refused to drive around me and insisted I made my turn, before they continued to cut the corner behind me!

My firm's allowing the fans to leave early if they make up the time... I'll stay until 5.30 and hopefully enjoy a quiet ride home!

When that happens I don't move until they turn in. They disguise wanting to cut the corner as courtesy.
