Tales from today's commute....

Got to love days like this a race against nature to make it into work before being soaked. Dark dingy day looking every bit like the first reminder Autums round the corner (rollocks). Nice ride in this morning expect for crete print van deciding to hurtle down the side road doing at least 40mph on to stop and stuggle through the width restriction I know you will never read this you sir are a dickehead in front a school as well, drivers like you should be taken off the road. A bit of breeze today had forgotten what wind feels like (not had curry in a while). Looking forward to nice long slog home great to be back on a bike.

Dark and a bit damp this morning. Watrrproof came off after 10 minutes and the rain stopped.

Only concern was four lads in black, hoods up hanging around in the tunnel under the A6 on the Fallowfield Loop. Very un-usual for 7:30am. Most likely on the rob, like what happened to me 2 years ago on a warm sunny September rush hour. Be careful folks. I hadn't seen them so will be checking tomorrow. I was going a fair lick anyway as it's downhill westbound.

Heavy! overnight rain, but not actually whilst I'm cycling. Still damp under wheel. Managed another contact free ride in, with 2 trackstands, one especially long on a perfect slight gradient (and one burnt amber light crossing). Always adds to the fun when I can achieve it.

Woke at 5am because one of the cats wanted out and the others were 'hungry'. Tipping it down. By 7am it had stopped with a hint of sunshine. Tried to rain on the way in, nothing much. Pleasant ride, and no scallywags on the 'Floop' - TBH the Floop was busy today.

Missed the rain the last 2 morning's luckily and a nice 14 c or so temp wise so a nice change from the heat, with the cloud cover I needed the light s on as it's like commuting in winter and caught a pothole I didn't see because of the puddles on the way in today.

A lovely morning - so much more fresh / less humid than yesterday following a bit of rain last night.

Out with time in hand; head freshly outside of arse after some much needed human contact last night and a few replies to messages from those my pessimist brain assumed had forsaken me.

Quiet roads and a tangible lack of dickheads. Couldn't help myself and had three sausages this morning as they looked so good. Stopped on the tow path for a bit of trimming and got a welcome thanks from a passing jogger as well as a few other nice little exchanges with others - seems the merciful break in the weather has perked people up a bit

That mushiness aside the Fuji did remind me last night why it needs a more city-friendly replacement after a fumbled front-ring friction shift placed the FD cage between the low and middle rings; the chain choosing to jump ship as I tried to pull across a junction from stationary and narrowly missed blunt-force castrating myself on the top tube..
