Looks like I was the lucky one. We had quite heavy rain during the night along with strong winds. It was dry when I got up at silly am. But still windy when I left for the station. I got to work just as the heaven's opened. It's looking much better for the ride home.

On the big boys bike today. Planning on cycling the 27 miles home. I have been suffering a bad back for the past few weeks. I had to pull out from a century night ride a couple of weeks back it was so sore. So will be a good test today.

went out Sunday did Mottingham to Gravesend and back decided to use the shared cycle paths next to a2 becuse from experience if you used the roads as you are entitled to do you either get bibbed up or forced off the road. Wow the shared cycle paths are poor not ridden them in 10 years over grown in places foll of pebbles and gravel everywhere next to where the building new homes think will stick to roads nexttime safer.

Wife got her biked stolen from work last night phoned the police seem more interested in what gender you associate yourself with.
If they find her bike burn out she gets charged to dispose of it. What is the pont of the police. Nice ride into work today, shot in no wind virtually no traiffic thought legs would ache after 36 miles yesterday. Not enoying dark starts might leave later all the lights on this moring still in t-shirt and shorts yesterday felt hot might invest in some glasses or googles salt was starting to sting my eyes yesterday.

I use the path from Dartford to Rochester most Friday afternoons. You're right, it's really not the best in places.
Where did you find it worse?

Joined the path next to hospital as last time used road got pushed off the road by close passes, worst was near to the building site where new homes were going up gravel everywhere, lose chippings from the road, cant stand shared paths anyway, how I never got a puncutre will never know seemed to be quite a bit of glass aswell. Used to use that route when worked in Gravsend was new ish then not in the state it is in now.

Back on the bike tomorrow. Going to be a come down from last week riding on beautiful gravel tracks.

Do need to clean the CX bike (commuter is clean and oiled) and check the rear gear hanger as I 'dropped it' - had to bodge it on a trail in the Cairngorms last week, but it looks nice and straight now and is shifting fine after a fettle back at the camp site.

That sounds fun.

First commute on the SS for a while, wet roads but otherwise ok - school traffic now of course. I'd forgotten how much lighter and more responsive it is, fun!
