What do you wear on those occasions when you need to attend a meeting and are unable to change out of the clothes you cycled in? I'm thinking of things like medical appointments and meeting solicitors rather than formal work meetings.

Top's no problem, just normal clothes under a lightweight jacket (and don't pedal too hard on the way to avoid sweating too much^_^), but I feel uncomfortable wearing my normal cycling bottoms (bib longs and / or loose fitting shorts). I don't like cycling in normal trousers or jeans. I'm thinking there must be a halfway house - something that's practical for cycling but looks smart-ish as well.

The only thing I've found so far is these BSpoke trousers (available elsewhere on the web) but at nigh on 50 quid they ain't cheap.

Any other suggestions?

Solicitors won't mind what you wear as long as you pay the bill, and doctors and nurses have seen it all before....

I have a pair of craghopper softshell trousers that may be a halfway house.

You can't buy through that website, only place I can find them in the right size is ebay.

Wanders off to look at Craghoppers...

The Stretch Kiwis are quite a bit cheaper on eBay.

How does the sizing come up on the Craghoppers? For some reason there seems to be a lot of places selling 32" long at £20. I tend to go for a 34" waist on the basis that if they're a little too big I can tighten my belt, but may risk the 32" if they're 'vanity sized'^_^

This thread is pants !

Nah, I don't need any recommendations for those - fake Abercrombie and Fitch* (bought in Turkey) - the ladies love 'em:biggrin:

*Or Fitchett and Woollacott as my girlfriend calls them. This will only mean anything to those of you with a Nottingham connection!

I tend to carry smart trousers/shirt in a bag and then put them on over bibshorts; its fine on arrival but you do get some strange looks when you start stripping off in the car park...

I brought a pair of bspoke trousers. I spent too much on them. They were great in the recent cold whether but I feel they will be too heavy in the Spring let alone a hot summer. Last week a brought a pair of hiking trousers from Lidl for a tenner. They are much lighter but not quite so formal/neat.
