Talk to me about wheels

My 2010 Secteur is still running original wheels and tyres ( ! )

The wheels are Mavic CXP22 and Specialized all condition 25c tyres.

I am thinking about upgrading wheels/tyres but have no idea where to start, at all

I love that my current wheels are bombproof and I don't have to worry about them through winter etc.

I don't want to spend a lot so really the best value and if they will give me a benefit over and above what I have. I was thinking along the lines of Mavic Krysium or something. My other half would not be impressed if I spent a lot on new wheels

Or would I see an improvement just getting new tyres?

If there is not much point in upgrading please tell me!

Mavic Krysium Elites are a well worth upgrade, or a pair of ultremo ZXs you would feel the difference.

mavic krysium elites are about £460 if would keep the old wheels for the winter and only use the elites in the good weather just change the tyres

If you have similar gearing you can swap wheels in minutes depending on the weather, I've got this set up with one of mine,but new wheels= new tyres for that bit of 'bling' needed

There is nothing wrong with using elites all year round, i do.
