yes... but it usually ended with just being friends and chatting about how we'd had no luck at internet dating.

a lot like real life dating, but without having to dress up.

"I was astounded by how many women's total ambition in life seemed to snuggling in front of an open fire, eating chocolate, drinking red wine and watching a Rom Com! (I'm not saying that isn't a nice thing to do, but when you only have so many words to describe yourself, is that really all you have to say!)"

Great post, ( the one in your link) your comment above which i have quoted is so very true ^_^

I was on a well-known site before I met Hover Fly. I went on one date with a guy who had so mis-described himself I did not recognize him. At his claimed 5' 10" he should have been slightly taller than me wearing (not very high) heels, instead I noticed the top of his head was only slightly above my eye level. I thought I would give the "off-beat "sense of humour he claimed he had a chance to win me round, it did not, he mainly complained about how if he put his true height of 5'5" no girls would reply to his messages then his scintillating conversation turned onto second hand tales from his brother's time in the army, in Northern Ireland! Then there was his reluctance to finish the last 1/4" of his pint and buy another, it turned out that his occupation of "IT technician" was more an aspiration than a fact. Luckily, if you continued on past the toilets in that pub you came to a rear exit.
The couple of others I met were better, the trouble was I had already seen Hover and decided he would be mine, so I suppose I was not the brightest company on a first date.

A few years ago, a friend of mine went down the Guardian Soulmates route... he got an enquiry from a WPC in a neighbouring town who requested a photograph of him, but he didn't have a digital camera or any digital photos of himself, so asked for my 'help'.

I had plenty of photos of him from a recent holiday to Turkey, some daft, some not so... and seeing as she was a WPC, i decided to theme the photo... so got the Usual Suspects poster and superimposed his head on each of the five suspects and sent that ... I thought it was funny, he thought it was funny, she instantly decided they wouldn't be compatible and that was the end of that! :shy:
