For a fit and forget commuting tyre it has to be M+. I've used them on commuters for a couple of years with no issues. Not found them slippery at all.

4 Seasons are a joke for commuting on. I ran them as distance tyres for a while and that was bad enough, they would hold flints like glue so you had to check your tyres every single day. And before some smart alec says you should check your tyres every day anyway, get some M+ and you won't need to.

If M+ are too heavy for you (although I had no problems keeping my average speeds up on them) then Durano Plus are their road specific cousins.

Continental 4-seasons.
I was going to agree with this as I've used these tyres for years, and they are good - then I saw your location. The Conti's will be fine if your commute is mostly main roads which are gritted. M+ are a more robust option if your commute is more problematic. I've used these, but they are heavy and slower than the conti's, which may or may not be a problem for you.

Continental Gatorksins. You may close the thread.
Re open the thread. I have both gatorskin and marathon supreme. Now you may truly close the thread

Road bike has 25mm gatorskin and CX bike 35mm supreme. Both are excellent tires for the bikes upon which they reside.

Actually yes you're right. They are quite hard in the ride and grip I feel is low (or maybe its adequate but I imagine it to be low?).

I heard they are far harder in ride quality but offer only slightly more protection. They are also a lot heavier and a pota to install/remove.

Not that harder, very good protection and have never had a problem installing or removing. You see, threads like these most people have their own favourites and what works for some doesn't work for others.

Necro-threading here i suppose. I like Schwalbe, always had a soft spot, and i'm running Ultremos as standard for summer riding. So, therefore, M+ it is. Thread closed!
