I've managed to plant the seeds of doubt, and he's now investigating Sky, he wants fibre optic broadband!
Niece is currently on the phone to Talk Talk. They blocked her TV on demand a few weeks ago and took £120 from her account. She got the money back but they left the block on. Today they took another £130 and blocked her internet completely. The helpline are refusing to talk to her until she settles her account (the account says that she has nothing to pay because her normal payments are being taken out every month as well). She managed to get through via their online chat and they've just now switched her internet back on but not returned the money which they've taken but say she didn't owe them.
Would never ever swap to Talk Talk period and I tell their sales guys the same thing every time I see them in Asda . I'm with BT and much as it pains some people I've had no trouble whatsoever with my phone nor Internet. Maybe not the cheapest but you pay peanuts you get monkeys!

After at least nine days of being defective, my TalkTalk email account suddenly sprang back to life this morning. This was quite remarkable because TalkTalk had assured me that both my PC and laptop had a Microsoft software issue. As others have said, if they can't fix their own problems, TT just blames your equipment. BTW, you can't actually communicate with them by email, believe it or not. You have to send them a letter through the mail or deal with somebody slavishly following a script on the phone.
Don't use them.
