It could just be the way that I hold the bars, but I find that the tape slips a bit over time and I end up with gaps. It's really annoying, and seems to happen regardless of whether I do it myslef or someone in the shop does it. Really annoying!!!!!

never had slippage in 20+ years

I've seen your taping skills on your fixie with that blue tape - in my eyes that is FAR from tidy!

get out of bed on the happy side or something this morning? you've been throwing mini wobblies all over the forum today - not that I'm not partial to a mini wobbly but is there anything we can do? other than 'taping' your typing fingers up? Or are you just feeling a bit blue and impatient?

My next question is: how do I tape my Profile aero bars? The brake cable is supposed to go through the bar... should I start at the end, tuck the end in, followed by the brake lever, then tape the cable to the bar, then complete the bar tape winding? Does anyone have any idea what I'm on about?

Consensus seems to be that the end doesn't get tucked in (secure by wrapping over the first turn of tape, or with double sided tape).

Never done it myself though, don't have aerobars.

yes, I've been having a bad few weeks - interesting that someone noticed from my posts - that implies that I'm not usually like this; which is good

Hey, we've all been there, just hope it pans out ok for you

at least you know others do actually read your posts

thanks; I should be more considerate to people if my posts are actually being read - I thought they were invisible - perhaps I just wanted a reaction?

regarding the fixed, the taping is fine - the taped up brake cabels aren't done so well under the bar tape, but regarding the actual bar tape it's a decent job if I may say so.

Not as nice as this job though (but that is down to the bar tape)

Us e good bar tape for a start. I would highly recommend BBB basic tape*. Two clever richard's leaving a review on the CRC page said that the tape came up to short. Apprehensive, I started stretching and wrapping. And boy, does this stuff stretch! This makes it much easier to wrap bars than the original cork bar tape (Cinelli). So the result is far more likely to be neat.

*The only problem I had was that CRC twice sent me bright pillar box red tape, when I'd ordered dark wine red (all sorted and refunded). I believe that the box was mislabled (by BBB) and that the mythical berry/wine red tape does really exist. Has anyone seen it? By the way, Deda do an excellent "Jaguar" green now which goes very nicely with the BRG on the Cheviot. These new darker colours are a great welcome for the more traditional looking bike. Better than "any colour as long as it's black!"
