(aka Men in Dresses).

I saw several regiments of Scotland´s best in downtown Oslo this afternoon in preparation for the qualifier against Norway.

Instead of making an unruly noise (except for the pipers), they were well-behaved and friendly, and instead of tanking up on beer and whisky (not surprising though, when a pint is 8 quid) they were guzzling ice-cream like it was going out of fashion.

And most of them seemed to be middle-aged geezers like myself!

Good luck to Scotland, but if they can´t beat Norway, then it really is time to hand back the Shetland Islands!

Eight pounds for a pint of Tartan  Still as I remember Tartan was so bad you couldn't give it awayxx(. There again if proper beer is eight quid...

I remember the £6.90 - £8.20 pints ( not even pints .... 0.4 or 0.5L) in Maloy when I was in the tall ships race.

Good job there was ALOT of free booze that week

I kind of remember the tall ships race in Newcastle 1993, though there much drinking with the visiting crews so I missed a lot of it. Seem to remember a russian crew being marooned because their ship was deemed not sea worthy, happy days

I'm just glad the Scots fans are well behaved and welcome anywhere. English fans are an embarrassment everywhere they go.

I think that is harsh. The vast majority of English fans are well behaved. Anyway, don't you remember the riots in Manchester a few years ago? Rangers fans if I remember correctly.

There are small minorities of idiots in every walk of life, we shouldn't tar any one nation with the idiocy of the few, IMO.

Rangers fans are not the same thing as Scotland fans. Celtic and Rangers fans are, in my humble opinion, morons. I'm talking about the fans who travel with their national team and it that instance I think it's fair to say that England fans are an embarrassment.

Just type 'England fans banned' into Google and you'll quickly get the idea. Try the same with Scotland, very different results.

To be fair it's only a minority of England fans who cause trouble. I'm sure the majority of England fans are only intent on supporting their team and having a good time, just like the majority of fans from all countries.

That's not necessarily so anymore. Not that I would ever consider following England, I do know a few lads who go and they are really decent sorts. They also follow my club side and they tell me it's changed radically in the last five years and it's far safer and you get more women and kids going now than you ever did before. There is still the "nazi" element but the more decent fans that go (and the fewer negative stereotypes the better as it will encourage more regular fans) the more they overwhelm the scum and the less chance there is of them getting anything going.

And lastly, I know some really, really decent fans of both Celtic and Rangers so it's also not fair to label them as morons. Some are, some aren't and I would suggest most aren't.

Had the Tartan Army in Amsterdam earlier in the year. They turned up days before the match - can't imagine what for.

Tonight, Engerland are in town, although haven't seen any fans yet. There have been media reports that the police are on stand-by and are expecting trouble.
