Years ago i was introduced to savoury pancakes my Mrs F... e.g. broccoli and cheese... when I was a kid, that would have been the same as kicking bishop brennan up the arse.
I'd have been soundly thrashed for that as a child.
Golden Syrup is for porridge, pancakes should have sugar and lemon on them.

When I was a lad I'm sure it used to be called treacle and then there was black treacle for cake making. Or am I just imagineing it?
P.S. I come from Birmingham so perhaps it was just a local thing.
It was stated yesterday that such a thing is wrong, because it means you can squirt it straight into cooking, whereas with a tin you have to use a spoon, and a lot sticks to the spoon, and you have to lick it off....
Been around a year or more I think - I never buy any but the tins.
