Hi guys

it's bugged me for a number of years so

Why is the jersey presentation always with a zip at the back and are they really special backwards jerseys

It's because it's quicker because the photographers don't have to wait for the recipient to wrestle a jersey over their head with tired arms and we're spared the alternative of a spectacle of a hostess fumbling to start a front zip at the rider's waist. At one point, they Velcroed up at the back but I don't know if they still do.

It reduces, but not eliminates, the risk of the podium girls getting touched up by Pete Sagan

It also keeps the sponsors logo looking perfect.

May have something to do with the sponsor's logos that are put on the front of the jerseys. They have to be done quickly and dont know who will win it until the end of the stage.
If the zip was at the front it would interfere with the logo.
