I'm looking forward to my commute tomorrow. A balmy 12°C, so they say.
Does that mean it will be raining?

Good luck.
Cheers, not sure if it was a good interview or a bad one.

I was expecting it to be the referal to see someone about disability support but it was a return to work interview.

One thing I gained from it is that, although I was previously told I could do up to 16 hours of work in the mean time, if I started doing some work, even if it was one isolated job, it starts the clock on a 12 month period that results in me coming off benefits and being back in proper work! It means that if I do any work at all I have to be sure that I can be self sufficient in a year!

Also the work has to be paid at above minimum wage and can't be more then £80pw, even if it is only one week's work in isolation. The work can't be anything that I am claiming I can't do due to being off sick, which I can understand, but it also means that if I make any attempt to make a piece of furniture, do joinery, or teach, for money or for free, then I am on my own. So much for getting back into my workshop and trying to do something to get my skills and know how back. I can do it for myself though as that is seen as a hobby.

Still, I am looking forward to the Arts on Prescription interview next week.

If in doubt just offer to make a brew in the Tea? thread.:cuppa:
Well Night Train , I've made a HUGE pot of beef stew and dumplings this morning. Anyone interested should bring along their own bowls though, as last time not all dishes were returned:sad:

You also need to be aware that if you tell them you walked to the interview they may remove your benefits. It happened to a friend of mine a few years ago before the changes started to happen. Always get a taxi or bus and claim your expensive back.

Cheers, I know of someone who was made to do a walking test for her benefits. She saw it as a test and, with her partner urging her on, she completed the test in agony and lost her benefits as a result.:cursing:
She was disabled as she had her knee shattered in an assult and then an infection from the hospital destroyed all her calf muscle in her injured leg.

Anyway, they know I walked, it is less then 0.4 mile each way, and it is really as far as I will walk unassisted and with stops to rest. They already know I can cycle, and do so for most of the walkable distances, so nothing to gain in saying different. Also to take a bus I would have to walk further at each end and only go one stop on the bus.
I had to walk nearly twice that distance to get to the medical with rest stops and my Mum as walking support and told them I would have cycled but there was nowhere safe to leave the bike.
