And this is unusual why?

A cotton wol.I will have pancakes at the weekend possibly. No energy for much cooking. My head feels like it contains lots of cotton wol.
Just get on that tandem and start peddling! And this is unusual why?![]()
A building question for NT: Long story short some of those people who want to take a pressure hose to "clean" people's roofs (rooves) are in this area. They tried to insist that in order to give a free estimate for the cost of cleaning the roof, they need to come into the house.
WTNo way, thinks I. Surely from the outside they can calculate the roof area. Just having the inside demensions of the house will not give them the surface area. They will also need the angle of the roof(s), and the angle they meet at the top. The two sides of the roof slant at different angles on this house. Needless to say, I insisted that he was absolutely no way, not ever, at all entering the house. Apart from that I do not think the roof needs cleaning. During a heavy rainstorm the moss gets dislodged from the roof, without endangering the tiles.
I just told them that I thought the moss on the roof was a good sign. It shows the lack of pollution in this area. I also told them that a small piece of algae would not lift the tiles, whereas their pressure jet washer thing would. I suspect that they were not expecting to be informed of those facts.
Houses have had perfectly good roofs on for centuries before power washers came along. No need for them nor access to the house. They are similar to the 'chaps' who have a spare bit of tarmac left over and will 'do your drive for£500£1000£1500.
Also, while power washing the roof they will find a dislodged tile and 'know' a friend who can fix it for you for a tiny £8000 to fit a bit of felt, a couple of tiles and a bucket of cement.
Of course, being the caring sort they will escort you to the cash point to make sure you are safe getting the money out for them.
Thank you Phil and NT your comments back up what I thought. It is a scam. There were some loose tiles on the roof some years ago. A neighbour two doors up, recommended to me the bloke who had fixed some tiles on her roof. Three tiles replaced and fix the felt for about £40 or something similar.
Anyone who bangs on the door offering a 'service' - it's always a scam.
