Getting to Leeds might have been an option, I think the Coastliner bus goes past the railway station... Depends whether the fatality was before or after the point at which the Leeds line joins the East Coast Main...

Bit poor not to have offered more help and information.

I think if I was getting married in London, I'd make sure I was there the day before! The idea of a 200 mile train journey, with a big party, on the same day as the wedding would be way too much stress!

I just googled it... someone thought it was just before the split near Garforth. Apparently they did put buses on but it took 90 minutes to organise. Line not opened for 3 hours [that's the statutory maximum for a fatality on the line I've since discovered]. My meeting finished at 2 so I might have just managed to get there to say hallo/goodbye to everyone and set off back!
