I blew a fuse on the tractor yesterday. It shows the importance of :cuppa: in important work.

Usually, when I have to dismantle and then remantle the electrics I go off for a :cuppa: and then return to check all the connections are sound and correct.
I didn't do that yesterday, as I was tired and rushing. I had the battery positive cable connected to the isolator switch, and then to the fuse, but then connected the battery negative to the other side of the fuse instead of the cable to the main contactor.

When I turned the isolator on a little bit of magic smoke came out.

I guess, having tested all the components, I have also tested the fuse, and it works.
It should just be replacing a fuse so I bought two 400A fuses from Ebay last night, except that I clicked the BIN on the 300A fuses from the same seller. Hopefully they will have got my email and will change them to 400A fuses.

Enjoying my first :cuppa: of the day before getting back to the workshop.

I now have till September to complete my degree course. I need to sort myself out with one of those time table thingy's. A deadline for both presentations has been set for sometime in July, so a least that is something to work towards.

Anyway having more :cuppa: then I will have a look. May be around to pick some ones brains as one of the assignments is to look at a development and planing application. Something that has been developed that has helped people socially (Manchester trams or something similar). Anyway off too it. Or maybe I should give myself a week off? As my course tutor said it was all too soon.

I hope it goes well for you, Gromit.
I have my views on Manchester trams but not sure if that would be a help or hindrance.

Anything we can help with, just ask.

Do what feels right. You may find some work keeps you occupied now, and that next week you just can't face it. Or not. Take the opportunities you can.

:cuppa:? I've been preparing the ingredients for a Spaghetti Cabendone for lunch tomorrow. We're having a competition to decide exactly what Cabendone is.

I'm missing going to the pub with people and generally having friends round or being able to call on people. What happened to the days when we would all go to the pub after work or college?

Well, personally, two days a week I'm cleaning when everyone else has gone home, one day I'm not at work, one day I'm usually rushing off to get a train, and even on the other day, I haven't got much spare money for pubbing!

We'll have to have a get-together some time.
