I think there are two schools of thought about flooding. One is to keep water out at all costs and the other is to let the water through easily and have the house and contents more easily repairable afterwards with water proof floors and walls and raised services.
I've heard of a chap down in Bewdley who has done the latter. He lives on the riverside where floods are a regular risk so has had the electrics fitted at least 4ft above the ground and the downstairs rooms have been lined with swimming pool tiles so when the floods come it's easy to just hose out the mud and muck.

You mean the one I put on about a fortnight ago?

That reminds me, not had a new avatar for a week or so

Although I can read the messages almost immediatedly, complexities like your avatar and your sig line take a lot longer to be up-dated. Remember that there is no internet in the 1950's. The words are transmitted by telex. Pictures have to be redrawn by hand and posted through my letterbox.

In that case it was either before my time, or in my early days on here when I was too scared to contribute to 'tea'

Chicken curry and rice was had for tea, followed by a small portion of cheesecake :mrpig:

You joined in 2009, is that not the last decade? Or has your memory decade?

:hello: Tea, toast and peanut butter here - cba to cook.

One of my friends is back from a 3 week cycling tour in Norway and she brought me back part of an antler that she found on the side of the road. ^_^ Apparently she also came across a reindeer skull she thought I'd like () but didn't have room for it in her panniers...
