It's a bit of a pain when people empty their dogs on the green opposite my house but I just saw a woman empty a child out there!

It is chucking it down with rain so it is a good thing the car is covered but I am bored.
I could really do with getting hold of a Land Rover axle and making a new back end for my tractor. I wonder how easy it is to hacksaw through an axle case while sitting in a wheelchair?
It's got to be better for my waistline then baking.:mrpig:

Can you use your sewing machine while in the wheelchair?

You could start working out the correct instructions for Arch to hacksaw through the axle case.

Instructions would be easy.
Getting the car to a place with an axle I can afford to buy would be sort of easy.
Getting a 150kg axle into the back of the car to bring home, then to get it back out of the car, then to put it on stands so it is true and level for measuring and marking out would be a bit difficult.
Dismantling it prior to cutting would be problematic.
Arch would struggle to saw through an axle with a hacksaw.
It would not solve the frustration of wanting to do it myself.

My sewing machine is playing up. I tried it at the weekend and it was producing nice stitching on the top but the underside is half the bobbin knotted up in a big hairy caterpillar shape. I will need to sort that.

I had that problem once. It turned out I had the bobbin in the wrong way round. On my machine the thread must run anti-clockwise, which is counter-intuitive. Also had that problem when I was using a bobbin that I had threaded but without using the tension regulator (that you should use when loading the bobbin). These two suggestions might help, or, as I expect, you have already checked those possibilities.

I presume you have checked the thread tension.

I will check the bobbin is the right way round, I suggested that to Arch regarding her similar sewing problems. The tension could be out as I was sewing inner tubes.

Jo, send me your address and I'll send you cake.

gee, thanks!

I've just inhaled a cup of tea, barely touched the sides on the way down.

We had a casual worker helping us today, only her second day, the first time I've worked with her. For some reason, she reminds me very much of Coffeejo - partly to look at, but also in what I imagine her character to be like. I've already warned her that I'm likely to call her Jo without thinking!

:tired: now. Got to gear myself up for my weekly chat with Mum. Might need a fresh cuppa first.:cuppa:

She was very good. After a single day she'd picked up all the whys and wherefores, and even though she didn't know today's round, she pretty much headed in the right direction without being told!

She's a climber too, which means she's much better at getting up the side of the vehicle than I am!
