We (Arch mainly) have just sorted through a pile of recycled timber in my top floor rooms and de-nailed theusable ones so that we can continue the building process at some point. We rewarded ourselves with and more raspberry cake and iced cream.

I also went to investigate the fireworks from early this morning. This is what I found.
Deliberate mischief I think.

Good news: We've just had cake again.
Bad News: This means there's no cake left...

Also, NT just wiped some dust off his knee* with a tissue moistened with a little of his tea. I didn't realise his addiction was that bad....

*We've been upstairs in the attic building site, sorting out some scrap timber. It was quite dusty.

I didn't go on the Ribble - I have done 23 hilly miles on the singlespeeder!!
Planning on doing a short SS tour later in the year.

I went to the River Festival this afternoon. Had a pancake with banana, hazelnut and chocolate, and

Some of the people at the Festival on narrow boats are stuck there as the river has risen one metre in height. I was explaining to one lady what places there are to visit, and what there is to do in this small market town.

There were lots of radio controlled boats being played with on the river instead of larger boats that have not been able to get here.

Tired.

Been splitting logs.

Can't work arms properly anymore....

Cut all our hedges in the last 2 days... can't even grip a cup of tea now without spilling it

Tough ride today, the cake almost made it worthwhile
Thought Colin was going to 'bonk' on the way back though, thankfully we all made it back, we left Colin doing a few laps of the Hebden Bridge car parks to make his 100k

This is me and Arch splitting logs.

Me balancing on one leg while swinging the hammer.

Arch on two legs doing likewise.

It is nice getting out to do something active to relieve my frustrations from sitting in doors for so long.
We managed to split a nice 6"x8" bulk that will be nice for my workshop, another that will need a bit of chainsawing and the rest is firewood.

Much deserved now.

Neither cake nor scotch eggs here () but I did have a huuuuge chocolate chip cookie this afternoon. And a packet of crips. And a small bar of chocolate...
