NT, we ended up at the pub we ate Sunday dinner at on our camping trip last year.

I can't remember it.
I remember the occasion and the camping the the people we were with but not the pub.

It's not a hugely memorable place, just a country pub. The onion rings on the other hand were memorable. They were huge! Must have been made from onions that won the 'Biggest Onion' prize.

I am trying to print some labels. The problem is that the sheets of labels keep getting stuck in the printer. Has anyone got any jam-free labels?

You might regret asking that.

A laser printer. I need two different sorts of labels, but not hundreds of each. First of all the printer did not want to pick up the sheet of labels. By trying different methods, I found that it would pick up a sheet, from "manual loading", but only with the paper tray open. Eventually printed a sheet of those, as they had the manufacturers name and the reference no on them.

The second set of labels I have are the right size but they have no "Ref" no on them, nor do I know the manufacturer.

so, I measured the margins, horizontal pitch, vertical pitch etc etc, but the puter told me they were too big for a sheet of A4 paper. Then I saw that the puter thought the page was landscape, not portrait. Finally sort that, but obviously put the sheet in a teensy bit off square, fortunately just wanted one label, so tried again, the puter has forgotten all my carefully worked out margins and pitches.

How do I tell the puter to remember the size of my custom labels. I do not want to buy 92,000 labels. What would be a good brand to buy a small quantity of, perhaps on ebay. There is not a good office stationers in this small town.

Would a single label printer, printing off a label roll, be better?

Not for the very few labels I need to print, I would not think so. I will have a look at one of those though. What I need is a small quantity of labels with the reference number on them.

I have now found small quantities of Avery laser labels on Ebay. I will check that my puter will recogise the labels, before ordering them.

Would it not be able to go 'old fashioned' and write them by hand? Joking apart, I've often found that it takes longer to sort out the technology than to do things by hand.

Yes, tea and cake will help, thank you. And yes, I could do it the old-fashioned way, and would normally do that, but in this instance I would like them printed.

Edit Your suggestion would cost three times the price of a box of labels. I have also compared prices of labels, Mr Helpdesk IT on ebay is approx half their price.

I can specify one label, by asking for it to print one label and specifying the column and row.

Someone on Ebay is selling 40 sheets of eco-friendly FSC certified labels of the size I need. Might check another website, but their postage charges tend to be very high.
