Looks fine, if you're a 'lofty'. Me, being a 'stumpy' would need it in a much smaller size.

If it's the right size then yes, go for it!! Shimano 600 was a very capable set of kit in it's day - 600 was rebadged as Ultegra. Personally, I'd swap the brakes out for modern dual pivot (or at least the front one) as brakes really have improved out of all recognition, but the bike itself should be sound. Steel is, as they say, real.
