I have a huge pile of aluminium tubes from old scout tents and a commission for a cycle trailer. I figured I could make better use of the tubes if I could weld them rather then gluing and stainless steel cable tying them. I can already bend them with a pipe bender, I just need to make some more former sizes.
Another project! I shall follow with interest as usual.

I've just thought that I should have put this in here instead of starting a new thread. Oh well.

OK, time for a rest.

I wanted to swap the jockey wheels (landing legs) over on my two trailers. The trailer I use has a bent and broken end where the wheel fits whereas my broken trailer has a good jockey wheel.
It meant lifting the drawbar on the broken trailer to allow enough height to withdraw the bottom half of the landing leg, with the wheel attached, from under the coupling. I guess I lifted about 50+kg from ankle height to knee height with one arm while slipping a block in place with the other.

Job done, parts swapped, and broken jockey wheel repaired and put under the broken trailer.

Heart pounding a bit now and a bit breathless.:B):heat::sweat:
Whoops!

I think feet up and a cool drink is in order.

Hmmm, I think someone is going to receive a telling off for over doing it.

D'you want any tea in that? ;)

We have a display thing at work showing how solar panels work, all built onto a trailer some years ago for taking to events. NT was roped into helping to move it last week, and pointed out that the jockey wheel had been mounted not where it should be, on the tow bar, but right up against the body of the thing, making it impossible to actually turn the handle to raise and lower it! :banghead:

Nope coffee ;)

I'd say this has never happened but I'd be lying normally with the handbrake. works when it's off but if you pull it up its in the way and you kinda need a brake when you take it off  he's a nusisance with them anyways doesn't tighten it up then drives off it falls down and another one bites the dust haha
