Yeah, it was good. Nice weather - cold, but mostly sunny. We got the train to Grosmont on Saturday, which was just the right cost/ride length ratio, and then had a nice lunch, and came back, and had a walk on the beach, and then NT drove a couple of the party to Scarborough to catch a train, and we had fish and chips for dinner, and spent the evening nattering and playing with Brio train track!

Bacon butties for breakfast this morning too!

Have you ever been to the Restaurant that is on Whitby Railway station? Admittedly, Whitby only has about two, or possibly four trains a day. It can be very disconcerting, to be sitting eating a meal and then look up to see a locomotive heading straight for your dining table, if you are sitting just beyond the Buffers.

No, but I can see what you mean.

On the subject of only a few trains a day, on the way back, we stopped briefly to admire the Hole of Horcum. There's a bus stop there, and a timetable showing the three buses a day that stop there. Also, a message saying that you could find out the time of the next bus, by texting etc etc. What, in case the time table was too complicated?
