Arch's phone has 'Beats something audio' on it so it plays music out loud that can be listened to. Mine doesn't.
Envious? Me?
I thought all (vaguely modern-ish) phones played music out loud. Even my non-posh non-smartphone does.

Need a bigger memory card to get all my music on though...
Don't pay over the odds for one - I recently got a 32 GB card for about £17!
My one, a Sony Xperia Arc, sounds like a wasp in a tin can playing Blondie on a Ukulele.
I have its tiny cousin, an Xperia Ray. I was quite impressed by how good the sound was for such a small phone. I'd never use it for playing music through the speaker though.

Oh, and as if by magic - it has just played a tune to me! (My take-your-Warfarin alarm.)

I like being able to just put music on when I am working somewhere and I don't always want to take a speaker dock and amp with me.
My previous three Sony phones were all Walkman phones able to do this with quite reasonable quality and volume. The Arc is useless. Even through speakers it is very low volume and needs a lot of amplification to get anything out of it.

I've never bothered to put music on my HTC.
If you've got YouTube to play with, who needs MP3s as well?
:music:
When I am busy doing some work, either on the house or in the workshop I will often have my music on shuffle for maybe 6 hours or so.

However, to do that I have to use one of my old Walkman phones, with a PAYG sim just to keep it active, to play the music for me.

I listen to music on my phone when I'm out walking the dog or any time at home when I want background noise and haven't got the laptop on. Rarely listen to the radio so it sits on my bedside table (made and carved by my great-grandmother) as a dust-gathererererer.

Never listen to music while I'm working, or even on the computer at home. Occasionally listen to the radio 2 in the car but depends who's on. 4's too repetitive in the morning.

I don't like silence so nearly always have the radio or my mp3 on, especially when working or bike fettling.
Bought one of those cheap speakers that you can plug your mp3/phone into, very portable so can be taken anywhere :music:
