Yes indeed Bees have Knees. And Dogs have B*ll*cks, Brass Monkeys have B*lls and there are those who have Bats in the Belfry, so I'm informed :birthday:

Nice cuppa this. Please pass the suggestives

Only 50% of them do!

TV highlight of the week was Kate Humble on Lambing Live being shown how to assess the quality of a good ram. It's as simple as are they firm, and well matched in size. How do you tell? Have a good feel...

That and the revelation that ewes have the sheep equivalent of a Brazilian for the tupping season.

Any more suggestives going?

<pedant> I think the 50% you refer to are called bitches, unless having had the snip 100% of dogs do <pedant>

Ah, but 'dog' also implies the whole species Canis familiaris...

It occurs to me, I don't know if there's a word for a snipped dog, like there is wether for sheep, or gelding for horse...

Yes, she did, she had a good old feel. And she did some of the ewe shaving...

It was hilarious, they put these two new rams (their first year on the job) in the field, the ewes galloped towards them and they turned tail and ran!

Up in Scotland the blackface rams all collect in one glen whilst the ewes are in another at ceratin times of the year. My southern pal was very perplexed - he asked "Do the sheep farmers go broke up here - farming with just rams?" Ha ha - the farms he was used to are mere backyards compared to the Arrochar Alps.......
