Evening all. Just back from taking WCMnr out for a congratulatory meal. I drove

His Dad & I have told him that we'll pay for him to do the Pass Plus modules, as his driving test 'gift' for passing the test at first attempt.

Good grief this pot is yesterdays  I'll make some fresh then

Busy busy with new bike frame, laundry and a mega pile of washing up this am as well as proof reading my daughter's essay on Nuclear Fusion. She missed out the Lawson Criterion  . I need that cuppa now.

Vury grim. And - and - I had one of those unscheduled deflation events on the way to work.

On the bright side, a nice lady from the village offered me a lift.

Unfortunately, I'd just finished fixing it by then.

Lunchtime Tea, anyone?

Evening!

been out with MrWC all day. We had another car to try for a day. Plus called in at another couple of different dealers to check out cars. Tried a real GANGSTA car, an Audi A3 Sportback. It was black and the rear passenger windows were tinted black. I'm not entirely sure the Audi salesman appreciated my squeals of delight along the lines of " S'up Bro? Ma Homey! Well Bling!" Followed by smacking Vernon ever so lightly on his glorious rear end at the same time as saying to him "Get in da mota, ma bitch!" Vernon, on the other hand, was having difficulty keeping a straight face, as was the young Audi mechanic nearby

Then we had a look at the Ovolv S40 & V50 diesel DRIVe things, which only have £35VED and do zillions of MPG. Definitely not GANGSTA...

OMFG no, Waffles!!! Not a ruddy Volvo!!! Standards are slipping, to coin a phrase.
The A3 looks quite nice, considering it's essentially a Golf in drag. But why not get a Golf and have done with it? Or a Skoda Octavia - also based on the Golf floorpan and mechanicals.

I know, an Ovlov... but it does have very cheap VED and does zillions of MPG and as MrWC does about 18,000 miles a year, fuel consumption is a very important consideration. The A3 is actually *horrible* it is very GANGSTA - well the one we drove today was. And the inside trim is horribly naff and really plasticky. And it's not as economical as the Ovlov. We'd still rpefer the lexus, but it's on the expensive side and the MPG isn't high enough to justify the extra expense. Which is a damn, damn shame, as the Lexus was lovely... sigh... Had a Civic with lots of top end of range stuff for the day today, and whilst inside it was quirky & funky display and the like, again, for the price the MPG is the let down.

The GANGSTA car..
