This part of Worcestershire is slowly moving into the 21st Century.

We used to have an "Any Old Iron" man with a horse and cart, shouting almost indecipherably about wanting Iron. He plodded along this street about six times a year.

Now we have a lady with a loud-hailer, with a pick up truck and I can understand what she is shouting.:biggrin:

Hurrah! Was out in the garden checking on The Laydeez. Wandered over to the stream - small trout swimming about. Hurrah! This means NO MINK! Hurrah and long may this continue!

I don't think mink would suit you, Waffles. You look better in lycra anyhow.

What?

Oh dear, that sounds awful. We saw a proper rag and bone set up a few weeks back, some traveller lads (we assume) with a horse and flat bed cart, shouting "rag and bone, any ol' iron". First time I'd ever seen such a thing for real - before that I only remember seeing them in films and 'through the window' on Play School when I was little.

Henry sounds like a super chap. Max is apparently thriving. And Oli has provided a word for the family lexicon. When performing any sort of magic, remember to say:

"abraca-zebra!"

In some ways it is better. The motorised vehicle does not take nearly as long to drive the length of the street as the horse and cart did. So although there is the noise of the loud hailer (not that loud) the noise lasts for a shorter length of time, (and no risk of horse pooh in the middle of the street).

Evening All,

Been out pedalling today (again). Went with a pal for a 47 miler, got home to find Mrs 25x26 wanting a pedal. So off out for another 7. She had stuff to do, hence the short ride. But by heck did she go off like a greyhound after the rabbit

Evenings!!!

Just back from the evening CTC ride to the pub that stops for a little light refreshment part-way round.
Or a couple of pints of heavy refreshment, depending on personal inclination ;)
Once the sun goes down it's a bit

Ruddy heck, Waffles, I thought I was up early today!!!!
I have a mug of warming caffeine-based beverage beside the PC.
Sadly, it's not tea...

I think the last time I was awake at 5am I was blearily contemplating Ditchling Beacon.
I'd recently had a chocolate croissant, some of that chocolate tiffin cake (the stuff with chocolate, broken biskits etc) and a huuuuuuuge cappuccino with 6 sugars in, and I was still an absolute wreck...

Some of us were up all night, with one thing or another (mostly posting mindless waffle on here) you know!

Had voted by 07.05 too.

I allowed an extra 10 minutes to vote on the way in, so it took me about 2 minutes, and I got in before the boss.

Electoral duty done. Funnily enough, St Nicks is a polling station today, but I don't think any of us who work there are due to use it.

Tea?

Oh, and can we all hope for a warm weekend please? I'm camping...

Yes I need some tea methinks. Actually, a good strong coffee might be better, but too much of the stuff gives me a headache.

I hope the weekend is as cold and barren as an Arctic Tundr ...no only kidding, please make it nice and warm!!
