Spiecher, I think I was a mix of George Clooney, Johnny Depp & Wilfred Bramble?

That's an interesting cocktail....

This is ridiculous. I'm sitting indoors on a glorious sunny day. I should get my arse out on the bike, if only for a spin along the river and back. I'm not tired or anything, I just... can't be arsed.

No, sod it, I'm going out, just for an hour, then I won't feel like a failure. See you all later.

Today must be the first ride I've been on for ages that didn't involve a refreshment stop. No bacon, no cake, no beer, nothing.
It's a bit worrying.

Personally I said "Sod the bike, show me the humongous Sunday Dinner" (my mother-in-law does one big enough to feed a small army) - guess where I am at mo?

What kind of roll? Bacon? Cheese? Swiss?

Well, 10 miles is better than nothing.

And 20 is better than 10!

Could have worked it better with regard to the headwind, but never mind...

Now I've got a pan of butternut squash roasting and one of red cabbage stewing. And then I'll work out if I can fit them in the freezer...

Tea?

Tea! Yes please.
Roast butter squash is superb, I sprinkle a bit of paprika over them while they roast!
Num num num.

more tea in the pot? Who would like a cup? Your cabbage and squash sounds great Arch!

I've got some squash and walnut bread cooling in the kitchen.
Dr - no breaks? Just riding...are you feeling ok?

Mmm, yes please for tea!

I'm just waiting for the stuff to cool down, so I can bag it up and bung it in the freezer. I'll leave a portion of each out to have with my sausages for dinner.

I may have to make room in the freezer, which might mean getting the pack of scotch pancakes out, and then I'll have to eat them. Oh, the stress.

;)

Thank you. I soldier on.

In fact, I think I've made space by the simple expedient of removing a couple of potato farls to have instead of mash.

And if I keep picking at the roasted squash everytime I pass the kitchen, there won't be any left to freeze! In fact I think I better cook dinner now, or there'll be non left for that!
