They have a posh name - is it Neapolitans or something?

I have just spent hours cleaning the Tea Room, including under the sink, polishing the taps, and washing all the trays. Removed the sticky residue from the table, and washed and replenished the sugar bowls. All the mugs are now sparkly clean, and the biskit tin is full. The cushions have been plumped and the cushion covers have been washed. The floor has been vacuumed. The sink is spotless, and all the tea towels are clean.

I am not tall enough to take down the decorations. Would someone like to do that while I have a shower?

Can everyone try and keep the room clean and tidy, for a few days, at least?

Have had a lovely sleep and just demolished a huge mug of tea.
I quite fancy a pink wafer biscuit now but as you know my willpower is very strong so I won't

Had a quick weigh in this morning and have lost half a pound

Looks very clean and tidy in here btw, would like to help with decoration removal but I have no ladder and am not tall enough

Talking of which, 1st day back at work and the place had been raided over the weekend, thieves were in there 8 hours apparently with our fork lift trucks taking whatever they wanted and loading up their vans

They even forced all the personal lockers open and took any money/valuables they found. Fortunately they didn't want my emergency Pot Noodle

though they did take my friends biscuits whixh he was upset about

Oh how rotten! To help yourself presumably thousands of poundsworth of stuff, and to then go into people's lockers for a few quid more and some poxy biscuits.

I needed milk so I popped into Waitrose on the way home, and managed to snaffle some reduced bargains. Colleagues had said they'd got stuff really cheap, but I'd never timed it just right. Anyway, today I got four mini savoury eggs for 19p, and a bag of Ceasar salad for 25p - probably enough for two people really, but I had it and the eggs, and a few penceworth of couscous for my tea - no more than 50p all in I reckon! And moderately healthy too (although there was the Ceasar dressing).

Gonna need some more tea though - it was all a bit salty.

Ianrauk would be proud of me, I washed the trikes today. Well, sloshed some water over them with a brush to get the worst of the salt and crud off. They are yellow, it turns out.... Ian, you're welcome to come and finish the job off with your babywipes...

Sorry to hear that Potsy.

Pot Noodle, that must be an emergency if you decide to eat that. ;) I tried one of those Pasta pots once, as you say, only consume in case of emergency.

I have some relatives visiting this evening for drinks and nibbles: Tyrrells crisps, mince pies with double cream, and lemon tart. Followed by more drinkies. They are the sort of people who will not stay late. Sorry to disappoint you, but I do not think there will be any leftovers.

When I collected the mince pies this morning, I had ordered 12 but got 13. Unlucky for some, so I had one with my lunch. My revised eating regime starts tomorrow morning.

Arch, do you remember a long time ago, I was talking about Triangular Pillows? There is an example of one on the bed where young Henry is sleeping. It is good for sitting up in bed and reading. I have one on the sofa, as the sides of the sofa are quite hard.

The kind of people that do these things have no respect for anybody so it was to be expected I suppose.

I think it's probably out of date it's been in there quite a while

I like to have something to fall back on in case I somehow forget to take any food with me.

We have been waiting for your soiree for ages so we can share the mince pies

just bought some cans of Diet Pepsi which is half price in Tesco at the moment, so I am at least reducing my sugar intake a bit there.
Still have plenty of stuff left in the cupboards but I am pretending it's not there

"It is said that the effect of eating too much lettuce is soporific"*

It certainly is. I think I overdosed on salad. I read somewhere that lettuce has laudnum in it. :tired:

Good evening all, I have just made a pot of Sainsbury's finest red label, and, I have a packet of dark chocolate kit kats to go with the tea. Any takers? As a kid I used to like those strange pink wafery biscuits, but not any more.
Potsy, Would a pot noodle actually go off? It is packed with so many additives it may be out of date but would probably be ok to eat in a couple of years time.:hungry:
