My brother has a hot-chocolate speciality: a large mug of boiled (full) milk into which you place a Cadbury's flake (just the one, Speich!) and let it melt.

Abso delish!

Hot milk with a large spoon or two of Nutella stirred in is pretty good too.

I also had a go at routing some aluminium with a wood router. That was fun!

I liked the pics of your finished work Night Train, for future reference was it easy to do?
I thought of this today as I was routing something that was giving off little blue sparks between the cutter and the baseplate if the speed was just right. It kept me entertained for a bit anyway, bit like a Van Der Graaf wotsit.

With aluminium it was easy. Just go slow with a light feed and let the cutter do the work.
I read online that lube helps but I found it just made the chips stick to the work and the router baseplate and then it rode up the chips rather then pushing them out the way.

If you were routing wood and got blue sparks I would think there was steel in there, a nail or something. Otherwise it could be damage to the top edge of the cutter.
What was you routing?

What was you routing?

Syntactic foam apparently. Designed to have a small amount of buoyancy and be very resistant to pressures. Lovely to work with but very dusty.
I'm planning on getting an offcut and carving a duck out of it for my nieces for bathtime.

Tried that. And being someone who can demolish a small jar of the stuff in one go, it wasn't quite as delish as I'd hoped. Sadly. But worth whacking in a bit of cinnamon and salt too if you want to give it a go.

Back to Green & Blacks* cocoa powder, demerera and milk. Unbeatable. So much so that I shall make some NOW!

*I'm incredibly posh.

The hot chocolate powder I use is "Divine". Not expensive and very good.

I do, however, admit to preferring hot chocolate with Errol Brown.

Are you feeling better Brockers? I think I might be getting a cold, or hayfever or something.

I was reliably informed today that there is a new version of Snickers. It has a yellow wrapper and a higher proportion of peanuts.

One of my cats is very pleased that he has a Cycling Team named after him. Leopard is shortened to Leo in the details shown on screen.

Headache, sore throat, fatigue. The Works. And after almost a week now it still seems to be getting worse. Possibly the rottenest I've felt in five years. Mind you, my voice has gone all Barry White, so if anybody needs some voice-over work done, or seducing, I'm your man!

the GP receptionist told me that they're not aware of anything untoward doing the rounds, bug-wise. Got me thinking though, I wonder if there's a website somewhere where people can log their symptoms and their location, so that it's possible to track the advance of virus-based illnesses countrywide? A bit like that one with the Harlequin ladybirds.

And thanks for asking Speicher. Very much appreciated.

I hope you start to feel better soon. Try and drink plenty, and get lots of sleep.

SE4 is that London SE4? A long way east from here. There seems to be some bugs going around here, with symptoms that include vertigo.

Have you got a quiet weekend to recover?

I will be gardening tomorrow, just light gardening, nothing heavy. Also watching the cycle Racing in Switzerland and Turkey

Sunday there is a Woodland open day, locally, with different crafts and edibles, and drinkables. The pace of life here is Worcestershire is very fast, as you can tell.

Yes, I know I have missed out Saturday, but I like to stay flexible with my plans.

Is that the time? :tired: good night
