Unfortunately it cannot be doughnut day here everyday. The shop that sells the bestest ones is only open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Once you have tasted Mr Baker's bestest ones, you are unlikely to want any other sort.

I tried a new sort of loaf recently. I cannot remember exactly what it is called but I think it was spelt bread.

Blimey, small world indeed. I wonder who it was - I met a few familiar faces, but also a few random folk at cafe stops...

Ah, all is well. I have spag bol.

He said you might remember a small wirey chap on a black Brompton.

Ok, you are excused. I get free doughnuts from my landlady. Every so often she caves, buys some, eats one or two and gives the rest to me

Hello. I thought every day was Doughnut Day? Or is that just in my wildest dreams?
These kids are very naive nowadays.
The tea people have very high levels of discipline Jo, doughnuts should only be consumed on Wednesdays, spikey is very naughty and should be punished!

:cry: Didn't get the summer research placement at Harper Adams University. Have just emailed to get some feedback.

At least I have some work over summer even though it only horticultural farm work.

Oh, bad luck. I imagine competition was pretty stiff.

And as you say, at least you have work, and relevant work at that.

I don't have a doughnut to hand, but I'll put the kettle on.

I hadn't thought about it properly or read the thread, but I think I'd like to.

With regard to sacrificing sleep, I found it surprisingly easy on the two occasions I've done it - I'm not someone who often keeps late hours, but I just had a nap early evening, and the adrenaline and company keep one going. Its ok, esp if you can just flake out on Sunday and relax.

Riding back - I think the route to Hull is going to be a longer one, that dips south first? So a ride back could be more direct. I made it back from Scarborough, although it did take me all day. If you wanted to go for it, I'd keep you company. Indeed if I trike, I don't have the option of a train home anyway....

OK I will let you know what I decide I would like to give it a go.

I would probably stick the bike in the car and drive over to york other wise it adds 30 odd miles going from harrogate to york and back

I was thinking about doing the Three Bridges Audax in july as well but I am still pondering that one.
