If you got banned, Speicher, you'd have to have a word with a Mod.
I'm sure we'd they'd get you back in.

There's not many folk ever seen me in a skirt either!

Am I the only one with 'Say Hello Wave Goodbye' running through my head?
I have just fitted some new foam grips and bar ends to my Brommie.
It's difficult getting, well, anything much on without compromising the fold.

I have just finished improving (hopefully) Granville.

I decided, this evening, to change Granville's noisy and not very good wheels. The front now has a black rimed BMX aluminium wheel, that was an easy swap, just a tyre change and then file out the drop outs to take the slightly larger axle.

The back wheel was a little more complex as I wanted to keep the hub gear. I carefully unspoked Granville's wheel and a BMX wheel and spoked the hub into the BMX rim. I started with the BMX spokes as they were only about 2mm longer then Granville's. I was hoping that they would fit but with a fully built wheel I ran out of threads for truing so I had to start all over again with Granville's spokes. There was a broken one so I just bent the end of a BMX spoke over into a J shape and fitted that.
It was a simple 3 cross patten so not too difficult.

Granville is back on his wheels but the rims are a little oily so I will need to clean them in the morning and then get some better brake blocks.

Now just time for a quick brew before bed.

...I'm trying my best not think about that.

Whenever I'm hurtling down stuff at 40 mph I'm uncomfortably aware that I put the brakes together...

When I, eventually, get to drive my electric car at 70mph I will be very aware that I built it entirely from scratch by my own hand and from my own designs.:eek:

I just wanted to use this as I haven't seen it before.

Argh! Don't shoot!

<looks for 'hands up' smiley>

I was recycling today, and a lady came up with a bag of recycling and said "I found this, someone had thrown it down the street"*

I took it from her and joked "Well, that'll be the York riot then..."

She said, very seriously, "Well yes, that's the worry...."

<facepalm>

*It was a bag containing three plastic bottles. It was a windy day. Most likely, it blew away.

Tea?

I did some equipment fettling today, which involved screwing some mushy pea tin cans to some wood, to replace the ones that had bent. They form sockets for the structure of the bag we hang on the bag of our truck.

Tea good. Had a day of "sorry, you can't have an appointment today, everyone's on a training course" and crashed tills and rude managers more interested in swearing at support staff on phone than, you know, apologising to me or even acknowledging my existence and then telling off the poor woman who was operating the till when it crashed when *she* tried to make me feel better by making a flippant remark about computers...

*and breathe*

I must say, I am rather shocked at the lack of tea emoticons. And cake.
