Mornings.

*passes extra big mug of tea to Pots*

NT, fab photo. I let my spiders have the roam of the place, but I admit I chickened out when I spotted the Beast wandering across my pillow and let the dog have a night-time snack.

Gosh, quiet in here today. It's ok, Potsy, the spiders have gone

Going back to cats (still not kittie action), if I was a member of the feline aristocracy, I'd want this as my cat house.

I heard about kitten cam on Wednesday when I was out on a ride with some fellow CCers - I've not seen a kitten yet though!

Just helped myself to four portions of stew - I know it is greedy.

Two before I went out for a very fast ride up and around the streets on the fast bike-I've not been fit enough to do that for a long while- was very happy, the hills were easy (which you will never hear me say) a way to go to reach previous fitness levels but it was FUN! Two more stew servings on my return when I was pretty damn hungry.

Putting a brew on...how is everyone?
Speich - any luck with the treadmill stuff that you posted in health and fitness?
Pots- very glad to hear Puma is back and well.

As for cats - my 'son' Cass has what we call the tree in the front room which is a multi platform cat scratcher that reaches up to the ceiling, he sleeps at the top and surveys his humans and his kingdom from there very often and in the bedroom there's a smaller 'cat hotel' (nicknamed by friends) scratch post where he stands to look out of the window - he's sadly indoors only so we have these things to try and keep him stimulated

It seems to be spider free in here tonight, is it safe to come in?

Mrs Potsy informs me we have a new member of the family coming in the next few days/weeks, a cute little kitten

Pics will follow in due course, gawd knows what the other 2 will make of it.

I reckon it will be a good time to sneak a new bike in as well while attention is on the cat

Awwww Pots - I am really broody for another cat - it's just not practical really.

What colour will the little nipper be?

Spider free but probably not cake or food free with me lurking with a cup of tea...

Ginger is all I have been told, I did ask if it was a boy or a girl and she couldn't remember

Have been bad this week tbh, been eating a few things I shouldn't but the weight is staying off.

Our cats have totally ignored any cat specific toys or scratching posts etc, but will happily scratch the doormat and sleep in random cardboard boxes if they are left lying about

Cass is very well trained - he went through a phase of scratching a certain patch of carpet on the stairs but we've taught him not to do that now.

Just had some raspberries- glad to hear the weight is staying off, that's fab news - I've put on a bit since the break from cycling but it's no big deal.

If it's ginger - it's most likely male - apparently gingers are high percentage male and tortoiseshells are predominantly female.

I am envious of a new kitty - is he/she a permanent member of the family?

Cool - I look forward to photos.

Yep, cats can be trained -helps if the one that you have is bright.

He does do what he wants and is pretty much his own 'person' but there are certain things we draw the line with.

On the teaching front, Cass would come in at 5am, 6,7 etc and purr me awake.

He's finally learnt that when I'm still asleep he has a sniff around and jumps up onto the bed without trying to burrow under the covers, he still wakes me but not insistently and he come for his purr session with me when I call him in when I wake up...good stuff!
