Mornings! My colleague has just put the coffee machine on. We're waiting for it to finish gurging and produce the goods.

I'm stuck inside today (again) but it's a lovely morning. Sun was just rising as I set off for work, with a low mist over the fields. Reminded me of a verse from a BB King song, which I'll regale you with (because it helps get it out of my system).

"I was walking down the street at sunrise one morning in London, England.
And there was a very large Rolls Royce limousine pulling slowly along the street.
And in that Rolls Royce was the Queen of England, looking tired, just got back from a party.
And the Queen leaned out and she said, "aren't you BB King?" She said "Oh, BB, sometimes it's so hard to pull things together
Could you tell me what you think I ought to do?"

And I said
You'd better not look down..."

I just love that image. And BB's advice isn't so bad either.

I thought it was tradition for us to get drenched!!
I'll join you in a brew anyhow.
Probably a good job we didn't meet up. Not sure how to put this, but I cooked a rather good curry last night, and all day I've been f@rting for England. Things are not good...
More Tea, Vicar?

I waited for it to stop raining this afternoon before going out for a walk. At the furthest point from home, it starting throwing buckets of water at me, and I got very wet. Decided not to go to the cinema tonight, and my rearranged hot air balloon flight on Saturday looks like a non-starter. ;)

Tea please, I have some small geezers maltesers.

With the wind speed that is predicted, we could take off from Worcester and land in the Lake District!

While I like the notion of hot air balloons, I'm not sure how happy I'd be about flying if it's really windy. Still, it's got to be better than a helichopper. I have a deep mistrust of an aircraft where the wings fly faster than the fuselage

The information about the flights says that surface wind speed must be less than 9 mph, cloud base above 1500 feet, and no likelihood of rain.

If you were crossing the Atlantic, I suggest you might want higher wind speeds.

Helicopters are wonderful. Especially the bit where you are in the airfield, near the buildings, flying about 12 feet off the ground. Then suddenly when clear of buildings ... whooossshhhh and you are ever so high. It is very noisy tho'.

Oh, I've been in one, and quite liked it. I still don't quite trust them though.
Although I'm quite happy to trust an Airbus, and they're made partly / largely of carbon composites aka burnt string and glue...

I flew in a Shorts 26 or something. 26 because it takes 26 passengers. It had those propellor thingies, and was so noisy I thought my head was going to explode, and/or we were going to fall out of the sky. The fact that I had consumed vast amounts of Irish Whiskey the night before, would, of course, have nothing to do with it. ;)
