In Whitby there used to be an Indian Restaurant, very close to, or even on, what used to be the platform at the station. It was a bit disconcerting, to say the least, to be enjoying my meal, then look up and see a locomotive heading straight for me.

Is this restaurant still there?

Perhaps I should go on railway line to look it up.

I stayed in Whitby ...oooeer.. sometime last century. It was a sort of guesthouse/small hotel almost next door to the Abbey. How many steps up is it from the town to the Abbey - 99 or so?

Add 100....

It's been a mostly lazy day, sitting drinking tea, then ferrying cyclists to Scarborough station, then we got all active and went for a walk on the beach. Then we had chips, and now the smalls are having a bath, and we're watching Strictly. Time for tea soon I think.
