What an utterly miserable day! I don't recall being so wet and miserable all through last winter. :cold: and :rain:

I came in and stood under a hot shower for a quarter of an hour, and have defrosted all but a small bit in the middle, which I'm now attacking with a hot cuppa. :cuppa:

NT, your documents might look good framed. I stayed in a holiday house recently that had lots of big framed indentures and deeds on the walls, looked very good, and fascinating to read.

*passes tea and bikits*

That's a great idea about the documents. NT, DO IT!

Horrible out there today, not often I'm glad to be stuck indoors working, but today I was :cold:

I might just do that Arch, it seems a shame to keep them folded away in a file. Worried about them fading away to nothingness though.

Another walk to the GPs this afternoon, why is it so much colder and windier when I walk there and not so when I walk back?

I will be having an ealy dinner tonight as I have to attend the local church hall to serve Christmas dinner for the local OAPs Christmas party. It is something the theatre group does each year. Two of the group actually do all the cooking so it is a proper 'home cooked' meal and not out of a packet.
Still bugs me that the Mayor get to attend and gets served first. The old dears should have priority.

Watch yourself, getting between me and a biskit. People lose arms that way.

I think today was really a low spot. There were days last winter when it didn't get above -12, but they were dry, and still. Today was just miserable. It didn't rain all day, but when it wasn't raining, the wind seemed stronger and colder.

As we drove back to base from the morning round, the low sun dazzled me all the way. The minute we turned into the yard, and had to get out and unload, the cloud came over, and it pelted sleet....

More tea! Need more tea! And biskits.....:cuppa:

I would imagine you could avoid fading by careful placing - somewhere not in strong sun, for example. For some reason, I imagine them going up a flight of stairs, although the problem is no one would ever make it up or down, as they'd get distracted reading all the documents!

I expect the old dears like the kudos of having the mayor there. Plus he (she?) does have to spend all evening probably having his ear bent by them. Mind you, a really on the ball mayor, politically, would be in there helping to dish up. Except he might end up dunking his chain in the gravy...

With regard to the windiness and coldness, I suspect that means a tailwind on the way home. It's funny how the wind disappears when it's behind you.

I'm going to have a lazy dinner, beans and fried eggs on toast. I have some fresh eggs from a St Nicks volunteer, who has started keeping chickens. She asked us to look out for egg boxes in the recycling for her, and then had to ask us to stop when she had way more than she needed!

Windy (bloody head wind coming home earlier :cursing:) but dry, and only cold because of the wind chill rather than temperature.

I was wondering as you seem to have been out on your bike.

Here it is gale force wind with rain/sleet/snow (take your pick as it changes every few mins) on and off all day, you can just about stay vertical when walking so I wondered what it was like were you are.
