Don't be sorry. We're all here to cheer each other up. I can't think of anything particularly useful to say, except, 'Something will work out'. Have the very best Christmas you can, and make the best of the time you have. Better some time, however hard, than none.

<personal note> Riley would have said something funny about voles. Just think of that.

No amount of Riley voles is going to get me out of this one. I have two big assignments due in for March 8000, 5000, and 11 others I need to do and I still can't write several essays at once. Plus they think its OK to squash a years worth of study into six months so your able to graduate in July.

I'm sure York Uni hand in day for dissertation was in May and they were still able to mark everything. Had a chat with Pete and considering the circumstances I think it is better I quit. The self hatred that I'm putting myself through at the moment is not going to help my long term health.

It is a tough thing to do but possibly a better option in the circumstances.

For so much of my life I wanted to get a degree, after having had to drop out of my Mech Eng when my brother died in 1991, and with a lot of effort and expense I started my MSc in Architecture, Environment and Energy Studies with UEL a few years ago.
I finally got to the thesis stage and having started my research was unable to act upon it due to my current illness. I had to make the decision to call it a day and graduate with a diploma. (My graduation photos arrived in the post today.)
In some ways I kick myself for not pushing through and squeezing out a thesis to get the MSc but in real terms I would be a lot more ill now had I tried and with no guarentee of success.

Better to be healthy and try again some other time if it mattered enough then to ruin the health, still not succeed and not be well enough to try again.

Talk to your tutor about any options to postpone or take time out. On my course I was allowed two years out before returning to do the thesis. Unfortunately I already took the two years to concentrate on my teaching and my income before I became ill.

I hope it works out for you.

I think your cunning plan of using highly sophisticated coded messages has fooled Ian, he doesn't know you've gone out to get some MINCE PIES, don't anybody tell him

NT- I rode the new bike in to work last night, seems OK now maybe it was just a case of getting the QR tightness right?
Also used a rucksack for the 1st time (to bring home some bikkies :hungry:) won'tbe doing that again in a hurry, despite being close to freezing out there I was left with a very uncomfortable sweaty back, and I didn't exactly race there
Tea and biscuits?
