I'm about but still watching Brian Cox.
I didn't realise he used to be in D:Ream

I'm watching a made for TV Miss Marple, starring Emilia Fox, Kelly Brook and Sean Pertwee, absolute pants but I am still watching
I also have 3 cats fighting over who gets to sit on me, Puma is currently winning and the boys are sulking
I would have thought there would be more than enough room for 3 cats. Even 30...

There's only the one

Just keep posting it at different sizes, he'll never notice....

A bit icy this morning, but thanks to my innate skill sheer luck I didn't actually hit the deck...

Just going to make my supper, a nice easy pasta dish, as I had a portion of sauce in the freezer.

Just made a batch of green tea and butter biscuits! Yum!

It is bloomin' cold!

Arch, I've been away so not been able to keep up to date with threads..any more news on the recycled jewellery etc?

Pots, our cat has gotten tons friendlier since (however, it's not quite like having three cats fighting for your lap) I've been away- he sleeps in the bed now and is almost a lap cat...I think his two packets of fish related treats are well deserved!

*Nicks a biscuit* *ignores green tea* :hello:
I think you'll find you can't ignore the tea in them, they're a bit green...

That'll teach you to be greedy and speedy!

I'm afraid to say that having just come from insane Hong Kong which seems to go bonkers over Xmas with children singing carols blasting out loudly from shops., several shops packed full of the cheesiest Christmas goods and decorations..I am finding the approach in London just a bit more subdued and chilled out.

Enjoying it actually Pots, I think you will be disappointed! No humbug from me!

Oh, thanks for asking!

We raised £200 at the craft fair - £120 of that was the bike tyre belts, of which I'll be making more... many many more, or at least as many as I can!

Oddly, the jewellery sold less well - we sold a few of the cable things, and one pair of wooden ones, (but they were to my colleague). A couple of other colleagues are also buying wooden ones. I think that craft fair was overloaded with jewellery, so I'm not downhearted!

We've got a deal going with Bike Rescue for old tyres (which they'd otherwise have to throw away), so it's just a case of how fast they can be made (and sell!).They'd like to sell them at the Bike Hub shop.

Our centre manager has said she'd like to come to some arrangement whereby I sell them to the charity to sell on, so that I get a cut of each - I'd made the first batch pretty much for free as a donation and by way of doing some market research for myself (and they know this, and are happy with it).

Of course, the belts are one of the more time consuming things to make. We'll probably raise the price - we'd sold them at a tenner each as an experiment, which is cheap compared to someone like Velo-re, but then Velo-re belts have more decoration, and I needed to build some confidence in myself! And there are also moves afoot to make the process quicker with a custom press to install the chin link rivets.

It's all quite exciting. I'm also thinking up more ideas to use recycled materials....

Oh, and I think you put me onto Esty? I've been having a look at it, and it certainly seems like a good way to sell stuff, so perhaps when I'm a bit more advanced, I'll sign up! I met some friends for a Christmas drink the other day and when they heard about my plans, they said "Oh, you should be on Etsy!"

Good stuff Arch.

Bike inner tubes can be cut on the slant and you can come up with some creative configurations and possibly painted with acrylic paint- hey presto you have a necklace or earrings.

Have fun, it sounds like it's a getting going.
Always great to make things!

Arch, I mentioned the craft fair and what you were doing to some cycling friends of mine and they immediately started raving about bike tyre belts so I think it could be a winner for you. And another vote for Etsy: all my crafy friends use it and rate it.

I'm feeling very domesticated. Have had a bath, taken a hedge trimmer to my legs and changed the sheets on the bed. Rewarded self with shortbread. I think there are some crumbs left if anyone fancies them....? :mrpig:
