Employability tests. The one about written information was absolutely fine but I've just screwed up the one about working with numbers. That loud crash you just heard was my self-esteem, plummeting earthwards without a parachute. More tea and a mince pie?

Good luck with the form filling Jo, just remember if you get stuck you can take your socks off so you can then count to twenty
Or think of things in boxes of mince pies, that should be easy for you. :mrpig:
I have overslept for the 2nd day running, but the weather isn't too bad so I'll be off for a 20 miler soon

All done. I'm comfort eating mince pies and drinking tea by the gallon. Not at all looking forward to this afternoon's appointment at the job centre.

Job centre? that is a mis-nomer. It is the "Meet our targets for stopping people receiving benefits whatever way is possible, getting them a job would be an extraordinary coincidence" centre. In doing this, they do not need to be helpful, nor does the left hand need to know what the right hand is doing.

I am not a member, I am a free man !!!!!!
I remember when I first went self employed after getting made redundant from my last job :wahhey: I went into the Job Centre just in case the work didnt start to come in, it was a room full of touch screen machines and you could search through the jobs and print out the details onto a slip of paper.

So I searched through all the jobs and they were all minumum wage, so I asked someone were all the jobs that paid a proper amount of money were and they just looked at me as if I was mad  so I left and didnt go back.

I have never been in the unfortunate situation of being unemployed, but that sounds horrible.

I'm on ESA (wot used to be incapacity benefit) but am doing all the required Things "to help me back to work". Let us not mention that there aren't any jobs - and the ones that do exist won't exactly be lining up to hire someone who has been a bit looney tunes in the past.

Ho hum and all that. More tea?
