Poor Oli, in a moment of parental innattention, took a great mouthful of rather too hot chocolate through a straw, leading to wailing and tears, and for some time he claimed that every mouthful of jacket potato we were trying to get him to eat was 'minty' (IE, it stung). Funnily, he felt more able to manage some cake.

Ouch! At least he already seems to have learned that cake cures all known ills.

Well I'm awake, think this is the earliest I've been out of bed in 2 weeks
Weather not too bad though the forecast is for rain later and still a bit windy.

The weather here is lovely almost no wind and quite warm I will be off out for a little ride shortly probably around 20 - 30 miles but need my breakfast first

I slept til half past ten, didn't get out bed until a fraction before midday

No cycling for me today, giving the legs a rest as we've got another hilly ride tomorrow.

YAY 15 miles for me.

At first it was but ok then it went a bit dark then just as I climbed up out of a valley it so I onto the main road and scurried home and when I got home the only part of me that was wet was my face the rain had not got through anything else so I am now going for a nice warm bath
