Is the kettle still working? My kettle went sort of "bang" and fused one of the circuits, the spare kettle decided to leak. I am now on the spare spare kettle. It must be about sixteen years old, and still works.

No, unless I boil some water in a saucepan. The first spare kettle was kept because it was the same sort as the "new" kettle. (There would be spare parts if the kettle stop working.) This is getting very complicated.

The dustbin men household refuse/recycling/garden rubbish men round here are very helpful and very nice people. They never make a mess.

Bear in mind that it is still the 1950's here though!
