I opened the back door, nearly got pushed back across the kitchen by the wind. The wind appears to be dying down now, just in time for the cats to go out.

I did a ride like that a few years ago.
Wimereux to Calais along the coast road - 25 miles in 45 minutes. We were flying.
The trains were on strike and we had to ride back. Took over three hours.

Three and a half hours in bottom gear. Not even Ventoux was that bad.
