 Did I miss a date being posted?
Are we all invited?? :hyper:
I'll get a new frock.
No date sorted yet, I still have the lights and legal stuff to get right before I contact the DVLA local office to see about getting it inspected. Need to find out what sort of chassis number I will need to stamp on it first though. Get that wrong and I could have a real headache.
From what I have gathered DVLA want the chassis number, but if there isn't one I have to make one up. They won't tell me the format but if it is wrong they won't register it and then I can't change it as it is the chassis number that is now on it! It is a real minefield...

I would suggest wellies and overalls if we get a drive on the farm though.

I wonder if a friendly local traffic copper would know the right format for the chassis number...they must have to examine them from time to time. And then I suppose the question is - is there a friendly local traffic copper?
I think the Police are only concerned with there being a number. If it is there it must be right regardless of the format.

I know of at least one kit car builder who had an old kit chassis with no number, so he stamped his own and was stuck with a chassis that was incorrectly numbered and he wasn't allowed to change it as that was illegal! The general assumption is that the number should be there denoting the chassis manufacturer's details as recorded by DVLA. There isn't a 'box' for a chassis not made by a manufacturer or an old pre numbered chassis being brought on to the road for the first time although they are still legal to use and get road legal.

I will pop down to my local DVLA office and have a friendly chat to see how helpful they are. Apparently, with registration and inspection they don't all sign from the same song sheet and so there are some offices that won't register and some offices that fall over themselves to help out.

So while you are registering the tractor, can you register your wedding? When they decide that they are singing from the same song sheet, could you tell them which songs you would like at your Marriage ceremony?

La laa la la la la la laaaa
I have got a brand new electric tractor, you've got a brand new key chassis number.

Yesterday evening, my laptop puter sort of went pppfft, and stopped working. I am now using the steam-powered puter from sometime early this century. This may explain any lengthy intervals between my posts.

So is that you officially invited then?
You could just play with the tractor if you didn't want to invest in a new hat.:giggle: I have a guest room in the house that is dog friendly (shut it Potsy!:ninja: ) so you can bring a guest.

Do I have to wear the tractor as a hat? Does the dog need a hat?

Just back from a mad dash to Aldi to see if they had anything left, needn't have rushed there's loads of cycling stuff still there, managed to cram a few bits and pieces into the basket once I'd made room beside the fig rolls :mrpig:
They have made a fatal error for me of putting the biskits and chocolate right as you walk in the store, no chance of getting round without filling the basket to overflowing :hungry:
To save your scales, here's a list of weighbridges in the Manchester area...

*puts Jo on ignore list (again)*

First week of 'day shift' over, great to finish at 12 on a Friday when I only went in at 8am
Had a leisurely ride home on the trans pennine trail, first time for a few weeks with all the water, it has dried out nicely now.
Going to have jacket potato with beans and some more corned dog, with a pint of tea :hungry:

Just had a big shock. It cost £150 to put a notice in the Bolton News to announce my mum's death. Wish I was more in control of everything. My sisters husband keeps saying not to worry about it. The funeral is costing us over £3,300 pounds so far and that is not including flowers.

I called today to cancel the car, that would have cost us £160. £545 to reopen my gran and grandads gran's grave.

Yes please to :cuppa:

We're running a bit slower than normal, being at my Mum's and all out of routine. NT has already been up into the loft to sort out a stray overflow pipe, and in the process we've brought down all our old toys to see what we can foist on donate to my sister for the boys. I feel a weekend of playing coming on!

How did you dismantle the furniture - the neat way with a screwdriver, or the fun way, with a hammer?
