I think that next year Potsy should do the "Let them eat cake" 60 mile ride in Cheshire*. This is described by the organisers as "pancake flat", which really takes the biscuit don't you think? Who came up with that half-baked idea?

* There is a thread on this forum about it.

Why would someone not have a domestic pillar drill?
Why do stuff at home, when you can do it at work while you're getting paid?
Granted, I have most of the tools of basic bodgery at home, but for serious stuff I do it at work as a 'homer'.
A lathe is *brilliant* for making custom seat posts.

I guess people are at work or out on their bikes.

I have been up for the last hour following a really good night's sleep. So comfortable with clean bedding, once all the creases and rucks had been pulled out of the duvet.

Need to find a task, or two, for today.

Well, I could do with some 165mm cranks with the pedal threads the opposite-way round to usual.
Only if you're stuck, mind...

I'm thinking about slowly walking into town. I have not been into York town centre for three months. Don't know what I'm going to do when I'm there. Would like to see what the centre looks like without the splash palace.

I can also report that the baby fish are doing well. Looks like we have three from the first batch and two from the second. Will post more pictures later.

I hope that means your back is improving well. Good luck.

It will be a while before I see York town centre too. Funny how I don't feel I will miss my local town centre.

I wonder if Speicher has a pillar drill at work?

I expect there is one, where I volunteer for one day a week. The Wardens* have a large woodwork workshop with lots of technical stuff in there like saws and hammers etc. They were making picnic benches in May**, so they must have a large drill, and more importantly know how to use it. ^_^

* Wardens as in Countryside Wardens.

** They were making them in the workshop in May.
